In 2016, the eligibility age for national health insurance coverage of implants expanded to 65, allowing more patients to benefit. In 2018 the patient co-payment was reduced from 50% to 30%, significantly lowering cost burden.

In addition, low-income beneficiaries and patients with rare or intractable diseases receive 90% coverage (10% copay), and patients with chronic diseases receive 80% coverage (20% copay) through the national health insurance.
